Still No Baby!

Just in case all of you are wondering.... No we have not had our baby yet. Steven seems to think that Jace is just too comfortable in my tummy and doesn't want to leave. If only I was as comfortable as he is then we wouldn't have such a big problem. In case any of you were keeping track, my due date has come and gone and still no baby.

The worst part of it all is not even having a glimmer of hope. Our doctor is really retarded! She won't even check me to see if I am dilated, or if things are progressing at all. At the last visit on Wednesday we asked her if she would strip my membranes. I've heard from many sources that the procedure can help speed things along. Her response to our request was "Oh no you don't want me to do that. It's not very pleasant" Ok, Lady... if I didn't want you to do that then why did I just ask you to? Seriously I know it isn't the most fun thing in the world but anything is better than sitting her being miserable without any hope of an ending.

Being induced isn't an option either. The hospital has a very "off hands approach" and they won't induce until 42 weeks. That means I could be pregnant for 2 weeks longer than everyone else. I told my doctor that having large children ran in my family and that I was worried my baby would get too big and I wouldn't be able to get him out and I'll end up having to have a c-section. I told her that my brother Dallas was a hefty 11lbs 12oz after being only 6 days late and she didn't even believe me! She said that my mother must have had gestational diabetes because, and I quote "babies just don't get that big on their own." Well they do in my family lady!!!

I am seriously frustrated and uncomfortable at this point so we are asking everyone to pray for us that we will have this baby sooner rather than later.

Kate and I had the most fun this weekend taking absolutely adorable pictures of my huge baby belly. Kate is such a good photographer I'm sure me being so dang good looking pregnant helped too ;) But they turned out so adorable I have to show everyone!

Steven... Super Man!

This weekend we went to the ostrich festival. It was sort of a spur of the moment thing though. It was a double date actually with our friend Shane, the pretty blond, that went not as planned at all. We started the evening planning on going to the Piano Bar after dinner down on mill. But as Shayne and her date were driving down the south 202 they saw the festival and decided they wanted to go there instead. So we ended up eating near there and then going to the festival.

This is where Steven became my super man! His powerful arms took over and smashed beer bottles like they were glass...wait I guess they are glass. Anyway, he won at beer bust by smashing two beer bottles with a baseball. He won me and Jace a big pooch we named Bear.

Happy Baptism Day

So this saturday my adorable little sister and step-brother were baptized. I know it's funny that I still have siblings that young. It was a great day. They are both so cute and looked so ready to make such a huge commitment. It was actually quite the event there were so many people there. I guess now days they do Stake baptisms where they get all the 8yr olds in the stake at the same time. You don't get your own any more like they did it back in my day. (that's a nice story grandma) So there were I think 5 or 6 kids there getting baptized. There were 3 from my Mom's ward our two and another little girl so we got to go last. My stepdad Larry baptized and confirmed them both. What a great experience





After the baptism we had a super fun family BBQ at the park! We had all kinds of food and super cute kids running around. It was the highlight of the day. We got to sit and talk and joke and laugh and eat (my favorite) Oh and I got some super cute pictures to top it all off.

Getting Ready to Explode!

I thought you all might enjoy a new tummy pic since I'm getting so huge now! I can't wait for Jace to come. I just want to hold him!

I made the mistake of telling Steven that I can't wait for Jace to come so I can sleep! He laughed at me =) Seriously though it is so hard to sleep when you have this huge belly weighing you down. You aren't allowed to sleep on your back or stomache, like I normally sleep so that only leaves sleeping on your side, which isn't the most comfortable position in the world.

So you finally get comfy enough to fall asleep on your side and then the arm you are laying on falls asleep just after you do so that means you have to swich sides... Which is extremely difficult with the big belly in the way and just after you finally drag your belly over to the other side and get into a comfortable position guess what happens... your other arm falls asleep so you have to switch sides again! AAARRRGGG! At least when the baby is here what little sleep I do get will be on my back dang it! You have no idea how comfortable sleeping on your back is until you can't do it any more!

*Sigh* They say it will all be worth it in the end. Well the only thing I have to say to that is the end isn't here yet so i can't tell if that is actually true! Ok I'm done ranting this baby just needs to hurry up and get here!

Steven... Super Dad!

So I was just sitting at the computer when Steven comes up behind me and asks me how to tell which side of the diaper is the front. A little confused... I told him it was the side that had the designs on it was the front. So now I have to find out what in the world he is doing with the diapers and low and behold I found him practicing putting the diaper on our stuffed animal. It was so dang cute I had to take a picture! He did it perfectly with out any help from me! (well except to find out which was the front) He's going to be such a great dad!

Getting Closer to Baby

I just realized today that in 4 more weeks (March 1st) It will be safe to have baby Jace. All the books I've read say that by 36 weeks their lungs are fully developed and it is safe for them to be born. Not that I'm hoping he'll come that early, I want him to be really ready to come, it's just a scarry thought. Steven and I could be parents in about month. Yikes!

Speaking of planning for baby it's Baby Shower time! I am so excited for my baby shower. I think I could be even more excited for it than I was for my wedding shower. How does that work? My own personal opinion is that the stuff you get at a baby shower is way cuter that the stuff you get at a wedding shower. Even though the stuff you get isn't technically for you it's still fun to get.

I went to my friend April Hale's baby shower on Saturday. She's about a month ahead of me and having a little girl. But I really liked her shower and better yet it gave me some good ideas. I do have to say that I am so glad I didn't wait as long as she did to have my shower. She was HUGE! In a good baby way of course but still. I fealt like I was 1/2 her size and I'm only a month behind her.

Any way my awesome sister Lindsey and super excited grandma Marilyn are putting it on for me. It's going to be great. I even made my own super cute invitations! Oh I just love my baby! I can't wait to meet him and then spoil him rotten!
