My new love

Mindy loves California Rolls! Crazy I know. Lately I have been even more sick than usual and it got to a point where I couldn’t even keep water down. So Mom to the rescue! I called my mom who called my aunt who is training to be a midwife and asked her a few tricks of the trade. My aunt listed off all the natural/herbal remedies for morning sickness.

Peppermint

Ginger

Norwegian Kelp (seaweed)

Rice

Catnip

Ice cubes

Red raspberry

Then we figured out that California rolls have rice, ginger and kelp and I have to tell you it works wonders! It’s like a triple whammy against morning sickness and I can’t get enough. Let’s just say the sushi place down the street is going to be getting a LOT of business from the Raisors. Take it from me if you can’t keep anything down California Rolls are the way to go.

Our New Office!

Ok since this whole having a baby thing is very real we decided that we should start getting ready for baby starting with the baby room. We decided, since I work from home and Steven still has lots of homework and school stuff, that we can't afford to not have an office space. Our solution is a multi-functional office/baby room.

Before in our 2nd bedroom the room acted as our catch-all room. (Lots of people I know have a catch-all drawer, we had a whole room!) Anything that we didn't need or were currently using was haphazardly thrown in and the door was shut as fast as possible. We knew we were going to have to clean it eventually and we recently discovered our apartment had outside storage (Yay) so it seemed like a good time.

We bought a brand new beautiful L-shaped desk and Steven and I spent many hours cleaning out the room, putting things in storage and setting up the desk. (Steven did most of the work of course I’m Pregnant and Sick I don’t have to do anything I don’t want too it’s my right). Anyhow… he did such a great job that I thought you all should see it!

Now that we have a beautiful clean baby room/ office we can start collecting all of our baby essentials like cribs and changing tables and all that jazz. We were smart and gave ourselves plenty of time to collect all the necessities. (I think 6 months is plenty of time).

Another Doctor Visit

Wednesday was baby's 2nd visit to the doctor and it was much nicer than the first. No poking or prodding this time yeah! We were hoping to be able to hear the heart beat at this visit. I think we didn't hear it because our baby is shy.

Our doctor did everything she could to try to hear it. She put all kinds of goopy crap on my tummy and moved the Doppler around for like 10 min, but no heart beat. We were so sad! The doctor thought it just might be too early to hear it, especially since I've been so sick it might have slowed the baby's growth. She also said that it could be that the placenta is just in the way and the baby is hiding behind it.

So we'll try again at our next visit , in another month, and if we don't hear it this time they are going to order us an ultrasound. Let's just hope we can hear it!
